A friend posted an interesting picture to Facebook encouraging people to plant flowers which would attract bees.
Whilst out and about we picked up some supplies for an at home activity during the holidays, nothing too expensive some flower seeds , including sunflowers, my favourite. Which are a favourite of the bee too 🙂
We planted marigolds, sunflowers, cornflowers and some poppies. We also planted potatoes, a new black currant tree/bush, and ensured our annual pot if strawberries were in a good condition.
The boys had tremendous fun loading pots and trays ready for planting getting grubby and digging just like the seven dwarfs , their favourite at the minute.
During the actual planting they listened carefully to my instructions. Whilst sprinkling seeds they used a great pincer grip which is ideal for establishing good strong fingers for learning to write.
We will take it in turns to water our plants and keep them healthy. Next step planting some vegetables.
